Leader of opposition People’s Democratic Party, Tendai Biti has scoffed at Vice President Mnangagwa’s efforts to launch a Command Economy. Mnangagwa was also behind the Command Agriculture scheme, which he claims is responsible for expected bumper harvests. However, other Ministers have been more reserved about the expected harvest with Professor Jonathan Moyo going as far as criticising both the command agriculture and command economy. Biti told the Vice President to focus on commanding the reduction of roadblocks among other ills.
In a statement, Biti said:
Mnangagwa recently told a gathering that the government is now working on a plan to introduce command strategy on everything including education and health.
As matter of fact Mnangagwa must attempt to command the reduction of roadblocks, an end to corruption and the insatiable appetite to fly in and out by the executive.
