Zimbabwean family dies in Cape Town fire

Ten people including a Zimbabwean man, Vusumuzi Nsimba (48), his wife and their two children died after thousands of shacks caught fire at an informal settlement in Cape Town, South Africa.

Nsimba who was originally from Entumbane suburb in Bulawayo died together with his family whose names are yet to be established, when their shack which was located along Pleasant Street in Wesbank caught fire. Fire fighters fought the inferno for 12 hours before they ran out of water. South African spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said investigations into the cause of the fire were still in progress. Said Rwexana:

I can confirm that cases of inquest were opened for investigation. There is a Zimbabwean family a man aged 48, a woman 32 years old and their two children aged 5 and 3 that died on March 11 when their shack caught fire.
