Bulawayo vendors approach banks for swipe machines as cash crisis continues

Bulawayo Upcoming Traders Association (BUTA) has approached local banks for swipe machines to give to its members. The association draws up street vendors and flea market traders from Bulawayo.

BUTA Secretary General Mr Dumisani Ncube told The Chronicle that their members’ businesses had decreased due to a late adoption of electronic payments. He said that the association had also approached local banks to avail the point of sale machines at an affordable offer of between $5 and $10 a month. Ncube said they will be checking their proposal in the next two weeks.
