Norton Councillors snub meeting with Dokora and Mliswa on education and new curriculum

Last week Norton legislator Temba Mliswa invited Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Lazarus Dokora to meet with the councillors to discuss issues affecting education as well as Dokora’s new education curriculum. However, out of the 16 wards in Norton, none of the councillors showed up for the meeting.

Speaking on the snub Mliswa said:

I am very much worried to see that there is not even a single councillor at this crucial meeting which they should have been part of. This makes me wonder if we the elected officials are doing our jobs,

The MP has done his duty by inviting the minister (Dokora) to come and address us here and the minister has done his part by accepting my invitation on your behalf and he is here. But where are the councillors?

This makes me doubt their dedication to duty because the issues discussed here needed their input.
