Dokora sued $3,5 million for allegedly pirating eMap student enrolling software

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Lazarus Dokora, is being sued by two software companies Zim Assist Limited and Purple Divine Technology for allegedly pirating a software for electronic student enrollment system. Dokora is being sued in his personal and official capacity.

The owner of the two companies, Nyasha Matongo claims to be the inventor of the software that was allegedly stolen by Dokora and his team. He is seeking an order to make Dokora stop using the pirated electronic Ministry Application Platform (eMap). In December last year Purple Divine filed an urgent chamber application to stop the Ministry from using the system, but a dispute on the ownership arose with some lawyers arguing theidea was originally from Zim Assist which was then not part of the proceedings. Purple Divine withdrew its application before issuing out joint summons with Zim Assist.

Harare lawyer, Mr Charles Warara of Warara and associates is represnting Matongo.
