MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has told party youth to join Zanu-PF so that they will not be discriminated against in accessing opportunities which are meant for Zanu PF. Tsvangirai acknowledged that there is a lot of partisanship in the distribution of resources and told his youth league members to join ZanuPF on the surface only, saying that when it comes to voting they know where their hearts stand.
Addressing youths at a meeting Tsvangirai said:
Don’t tell me that you can’t say pamberi neZanu PF. Do it and join them in their activities but know where to vote when the elections come.
Chinonzi rasa ndechiri mumaoko chiri muninga unofa nacho (Zanu PF cannot take away what is deep inside your heart simply because you did their slogan). There is no need to worry about that, join them.
This was in responses to a youth who had bemoaned the fact that admission at Mushagashe Vocational Training Centre was contingent on the applicant having a letter his/her traditional chief or councillor indicating that they were in Zanu PF.
However, the Principal William Guzuyo denied the allegations saying that the centre was impartial.
