Charles Ray who was the United States ambassador to Zimbabwe between 2009 and 2012 said that United States president Donald Trump and Robert Mugabe would never get along due to their huge egos. Ray added that the two presidents were very likely to quarrel if they meet due to Trump’s brash nature and Mugabe’s perceived thin skin.

Ray also said Mugabe is likely to be disappointed if he expects Trump to lift the sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe. Barack Obama renewed the sanctions on Zimbabwe just before he left office.
