Mugabe denies corruption by ministers, says it's all talk
President Robert Mugabe has denied that his government ministers are corrupt, alleging that they are victims of political gamesmanship. He challenged the people who think that they have evidence of corruption to bring it forward so that their claims can be properly invest
People were in the habit of accusing the others of being corrupt with no evidence.
I will investigate but I don’t want political attacks as it were…if there is evidence we will pursue that evidence and certainly we will deal with the persons.
FeedbackIn an interview on state television with ZBC reporter Tazzen Mandizvidza just before his 93rd birthday, the nonagenarian also defended hs government’s anti-corruption blitz which seems to be targeting only “small fish” saying that this was a preemptive move designed to stop small fish from turning into big fish.
If small fish were real fish, one would say ah, fine we are catching the small fish,” he said.

So, small fish have a tendency of growing big. So, you catch them before they grow big but this is a human situation. I think the big fish more of it has been talk, talk, talk and talk.
Commenting on allegations that Jonathan Moyo misused funds from the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund, Mugabe said that Moyo was just a victim of politics. This is despite the fact that Moyo himself admitted to misusing the funds and equated himself to a modern day Robin Hood.
