A 34-year-old man who cannot be named to protect the identity of his victims was arraigned before the courts in Victoria Falls facing allegations of raping, sodomizing and infecting his stepdaughters with a sexually transmitted disease (STI). The victims were aged eight and six. The prosecutors said that a medical report will show that the stepdaughters were treated for STIs and had to be stitched on their back passages as a result of the trauma.
Their victims’ mother, as well as the alleged abuser, tried to force the minors to implicate a neighbor until concerned villagers foiled the plan by tipping off the police. This was after the grandmother of the two girls reported the matter to the police when she discovered that the two children were having problems in walking.
The Magistrate denied bail and remanded the man to the 2nd of March 2017, on which date the court will advise him of his trial date.
