Paediatric Ward at Parirenyatwa shutdown because of strike

The ongoing doctors’ strike which started on Wednesday the 15th of February got worse today (Friday) after the Paediatric unit at the country’s biggest hospital was closed due to the strike.  This came after senior doctors in the obstetrics and gynaecology also joined the strike which was initiated by junior doctors.

Please note that from immediate effect 17/02/17 A2 Peads casualty will be closed in line with the contingency plans. All paediatric patients will be seen and Managed in Main Casualty.

1 have communicated this info to Dr Jeyacheya Acting HOD main Casualty and the SIC in Casually.

This will be effective until further notice.
