Tropical Cyclone Dineo, which is expected to affect parts of Zimbabwe has caused a lot of damage in Mozambique, killing 7 people and affecting close to 130 000 people. Dineo destroyed more than 20 000 homes through winds and very strong rains in Inhambane, south-east Mocambique. The winds have speeds in excess of 100 km/h. Dineo is expected to affect parts of Masvingo, Matabeleland South and Manicaland provinces.
However, Dineo was downgraded to a tropical depression on Thursday and renamed “ex-Dineo.” The Met Department has advised people to brace for flooding.
