Potraz to introduce framework to govern promotions by mobile network operators
Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) will soon introduce frameworks to govern promotions by mobile network operators.
Speaking to The Herald, Potraz Director General said that the framework was meant to guide mobile network operators from haphazardly running promotions and undercutting each other. The framework is expected before the end of the first quarter after board approvals.
Last year Potraz suspended a number of promotions in August last year. Machengete said:
As the regulator we want to ensure that there is a level playing field. The mobile operators have been having these promotions before until last year and they have always wanted to bring them back, they have been waiting for this.
