Budiriro family that drowned in well not buried after church & relatives clash over burial procedures
Mr Cleopas Jokomera and his three sons, Macliff, Tom and Cleopas Jr who died in a well accident last week could not be buried after the family and Johanne Masowe weChishanu Bethlehem of Judea clashed over burial procedures.
Church elders said their church did not allow body viewing while relatives refused to let church rules prevail over their deceased relatives. A witness told The Herald that:
There was a scuffle as church members blocked the relatives from bringing down coffins from the truvk transporting the bodies saying it was against their church regulations to conduct body viewing.
FeedbackPolice had to intervene after the heated argument continued. After deliberations, the family resolved to let the church do what they want although Tichaona Mundandanda who is a nephew to the late Jokomera said that it hurt that they were going to bury his uncle’s body without viewing it.
