Temba Mliswa accuses fellow MP of being a car thief

Keith Guzah, the Hurungwe West MP, was ejected from Parliament on Wednesday after he shouted at his predecessor Temba Mliswa when tempers flared.

The issue started when Mliswa was grilling Labour deputy minister Tapiwa Matangaidze on the number of jobs that Zanu PF had actually created since the 2013 elections. Matangaidze was having a hard time coming up with a response which would satisfy Mliswa when Guzah came to his rescue. Guzah tried to defend Matangaidze and attacked Mliswa saying

You are stupid, get away

Mliswa did not seem to appreciate either his tone or his message and retorted by accusing Guzah of being a car thief saying who had changed his name in order to escape justice saying:

Tell people your real name is not Keith Guzah, but Kachasu Phiri; you car thief!

This infuriated Guzah who started shouting at Mliswa and had to be restrained by his fellow MPs.

Deputy Speaker of the House Mabel Chinomona ejected Guzah for his behaviour and reprimanded Mliswa. There seems to be no love lost between the two after Guzah won Temba Mliswa’s Hurungwe West seat in a bitterly contested by-election.
