Rapist lists Mphoko, Chamisa, Mujuru & Mliswa as witnesses to his crimes

Xolani Nkala (30) who is serving a 20 year jail sentence, of Bulawayo appeared before regional Magistrate Mr Crispen Mberewere for allegedly raping a woman and filming the incident with a phone. Mberewere remanded the matter to February 22 after Nkala indicated that he had not been served with court papers.

Prosecutor, Mr Simbarashe Manyiwa alleged that sometime in 2013, Nkala pretended to be a tout and lured a woman to a vehicle on the pretext that it was bound for Gwanda. Nkala is accused of raping the complainant after robbing her of her R400 and Nokia phone. In the second incident Nkala allegedly met a woman in Bulawayo central business district and asked for her phone number which he used to call her claiming he had secondhand clothes for sale. On their way to Ntabazinduna, Nkala led the woman who was carrying a baby into the bush, forced her to kneel and raped her twice from behind.

Manyiwa mentioned that Nkala had gone for psychiatric evaluation and was declared mentally stable. While in court yesterday, Nkala made the gallery roar with laughter when he said:

I want to call my witnesses, they know better what happened in these cases. Avail for me Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko, Temba Mliswa, Dorcas Sibanda, Prince Sibanda, Joice Mujuru and Nelson Chamisa.
