Jonathan Moyo takes Binga Rural District Council to court for failing to pay more than $14 000 in Zimdef levies

Higher Education Minister, Professor Jonathan Moyo has taken Binga Rural District Council to court for failing to pay more than $41 000 in Zimbabwe Manpower Development (Zimdef) levies in terms of section 3 of the Manpower Development Act.http://www.pindula.co.zw/news/wp-admin/post-new.php

Yesterday, Moyo filed summons at Bulawayo High Court citing Binga Rural District Council as a defendant with Moyo demanding $14 777 in levies that were not paid between January and December 2016. In the summons filed by his lawyers, Dube-Tachiona and Tsvangirai Legal Practioners said that Binga had continuously neglected or refused to settle the debt despite the demand. He stated that the amount is payable before or on 14 March 2017.

Moyo also wants Binga to pay the cost of the lawsuit at attorney-client scale. Binga has not yet filed a notice to enter an appearance to defend the summons.
