A 40 year old Plumtree man appeared in court for allegedly repeatedly raping his one year old daughter.
The State alleges that the man (name withheld to protect identity of children) ,was left in custody of three children while his wife went to work. His abuse was discovered after his five year old step son fled from home after being severely assaulted. The man pleaded not guilty to physical abuse and rape.
Bulawayo Regional Magistrate Mr Joseph Mabeza remanded him in custody to February 7. Prosecuting, Mr Tinashe Dzipe said in a period extending from July to October 2016, the man constantly beat his son and raped his one year old daughter and said a report compiled shows that his one year old daughter had been sexually abused on several occasions.
