Alleged drunk doctor botches caesarean section, kills mother

Henry Harry Mushuku a doctor at Gutu Mission Hospital is reportedly under investigation after allegedly performing an operation while under the influence of alcohol.  As a result, the Mushuku botched the operation resulting in the death of Locadia Mbinda two weeks ago.  Mbinda’s baby son survived the operation.

Masvingo Provincial Medical Director (PMD) Dr Amadeus Shamu. confirmed the incident and the investigation saying:

 We have heard of the issue though I cannot disclose much as of now since investigations are still underway. I will be in a position to give further details and action to take when the investigations are over.

Dr Mushuku was belligerent when asked to comment on the issue and threatened the reporters from Tell Zimbabwe when they contacted him.  Said Mushuku:
