Mujuru’ s constitutional challenge on bond notes scheduled for February 1

Zimbabwe People First leader Dr Joice Mujuru’s constitutional challenge on the introduction of bond notes has been scheduled for the 1st of February 2017.  Mujuru is challenging the constitutionality of the Presidential decree that was used to introduce bond notes last year.   Mujuru is being represented by Professor Lovemore Madhuku, who filed their heads of arguments at the Constitutional Court.

She listed President Mugabe, Parliament, Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr John Mangudya and Attorney-General Advocate Prince Machaya as respondents.  Last year the Constitutional Court dismissed Mujuru’s application for being premature and speculative.
