Makandiwa to build secondary school in Sunningdale

Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, leader of the United Family International Church (UFIC) has acquired 10 hectares in Sunningdale to build a secondary school.  The church has decided to fast track the project so that they school may be opened in January 2018.  The school is looking at an initial enrollment of 540 pupils.

Sunningdale has no secondary schools at the moment.  This situation has lead to children walking long distances to attend school at Hatfield Girls High,  Mbare High, Harare High, Cranborne Boys or Morgan High School. UFIC also revealed that was also a way of giving back to the community as Prophet Makandiwa’s wife Ruth Makandiwa used to stay in Sunningdale and had to walk to Mbare to go to school.

UFIC Spokesperson Pastor Prime Kufakunesu said:

Depending on the spend with which we get the necessary approvals, our first intake should be January 2018 and our envisaged enrolment is 540 pupils.

Our initial plans were to open in 2019 given the other community projects that are lined up for this year but the parents in the community pressured us to fast-track our programme saying this was the answer to their long standing cry
