Wicknell accused of plagiarising hit song in his tribute to John Landa Nkomo

Controversial businessmen Wicknell Chivayo has been accused of plagiarising Puff Daddy and Faith Evans hit song “I’ll be missing you”.  Chivayo allegedly used the song’s lyrics to write a tribute to the late Vice-President John Landa Nkomo.  I will be missing you was written as a tribute to Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G in 1997.

Part of Chivayo’s  tribute reads

When its real, feelings are hard to conceal, can’t imagine all the pain I feel. It’s very hard with you not around, but I know you are in heaven smiling down, watching us while we pray for you.

The lyrics in the song are

Try to black it out, but it plays again, When it’s real, feelings hard to conceal, Can’t imagine all the pain I feel

…It’s kinda hard with you not around,  Know you in heaven smilin downWatchin us while we pray for you.

Chivayo alleged copied more than just this part.  When quized by Newsday the flamboyant business was unmoved saying:

You are missing it now. Make it a front page that Chivayo is plagiarising, I don’t mind. I missed my former VP and had to flight that advert. The song you are referring to was also a dedication after someone’s death and it is different from what Melania Trump did.
