Government releases January 2017 pay dates for civil servants

Government has released pay dates for civil servants with members of the Zimbabwe National Army and Air Force of Zimbabwe set to receive their salaries today.

Here are the dates as listed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance:

• Zimbabwe National Army and Air Force of Zimbabwe- 18 January 2017
• Health Sector-  20 January 2017
• Zimbabwe Republic Police and the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services- 24 January 2017
• Education Sector – 30 January 2017
• Rest of Civil Service – 3 February 2017
• Pensioners- 7 February 2017
• Grant-aided institutions – 10 February 2017

Given the challenges the employer is facing in mobilising resources to pay salaries, payment of the 13th cheque will likely be staggered as was the case last year.
