The typhoid outbreak has spread to Glen View and Budiriro suburbs after 2 cases were reported in each suburb. The outbreak started in Mbare where a someone died from the disease.
Harare City Council Health Services director Dr Prosper Chonzi also confirmed that suspected typhoid costs rose from 132 to 150. Chonzi is fearful that more cases will be recorded as the city is yet to address the major causes. Chonzi said:
We fear for further typhoid outbreaks as the drivers of the disease are still to be dealt with.
We are expecting more results as there are specimens which are still in the laboratory.
