NetOne sticks to its old data prices, appeals to Potraz to reconsider

State-owned mobile network operator (MNO) NetOne has not introduced new data tariffs and is sticking to its old prices.  NetOne has since indicated that it will not be adopting the data tariffs until it concludes talks with Potraz.  It is appealing to Potraz to reconsider its position on the minimum costs for data.  This comes after Econet introduced prohibitive data tariffs yesterday, which are in some cases five times the recommended minimum charges.

NetOne’s acting CEO, Brian Mutandiro spoke to the Chronicle yesterday and said:

I cannot disclose any position as we are currently in consultation with the regulator with a view of adopting the determination
