First Lady Grace Mugabe, has indicated through her lawyers that she is going to appeal against the eviction order that was given by High Court judge, Justice Clement Phiri. Mugabe seized three properties belong to Lebanese diamond trader Jamal Ahmed after a falling out over a $1,3 million diamond ring. Ahmed’s lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa has indicated that she was going to approach the deputy sheriff of the High Court after the First Lady defied the order.
Grace’s lawyers Manase and Manase Legal Practitioners, represented by Wellington Pasipanodya, told Newsday:
The whole process was wrong, as the First Lady was never served with papers and we are challenging that decision. It is wrong to say she has defied a court order because we have already indicated that we are appealing against the ruling to evict those people occupying those properties
