Parirenyatwa blames Harare City Council for Typhoid outbreak
Minister of Health David Parirenyatwa has blamed the Harare City Council (HCC) authorities for the latest outbreak of cholera. The disease has already killed two people. The minister blamed the HCC for the poor water supplies, poor collection of refuse as well as the poor response times to cases of sewage blockages. The disease has mainly affected Mbare residents.
Parirenyatwa said:
Typhoid is purely caused by poor hygienic practices and, no matter what we do as a ministry, if the issues are not addressed, we fail.
