I managed to raise money for lobola after publicity from assault by Lady Squanda: Skimbo

Local comedian Skimbo, real name Tatenda Matika has described his assault at the hands of dancehall singer Lady Squanda as a blessing in disguise.  As a result of the assault Skimbo shot to national prominence as a video of the assault went viral.  The resulting publicity opened a lot of doors for Skimbo, who made late last year his maiden UK tour.  He was also able to raise money to pay lobola for his wife from his new-found connections.

Speaking to H-Metro Skimbo said:

Despite all these challenges I am facing, I would like to also point out that I got a lot of benefits out of the torture, a lot of people now know me and a lot of doors have also opened up.

I have managed to travel to the United Kingdom and stayed there for a month where I had a list of shows lined up, most of those promoters got to know me because of how Squanda tortured me.

I have also managed to raise some money to pay for lobola to pay for my wife because of these connections I got.
