Equatorial Guinea special envoy meets Mnangagwa to thank Govt for sending soldiers

A special envoy from Equatorial Guinea Mr Juan Antonio Bibang Nchuchuma, who is also the Minister of External Security in his country, met Acting President Emmerson Mnangagwa at his offices in Harare to deliver a special message for President Robert Mugabe from his Equatorial Guinea counterpart, President Theodore Obiang Nguema Mbasongo.

He was sent to convey gratitude to the President Mugabe for seconding a contingent of military commandos who spent a year undertaking various military missions in the West African country at the request of President Mbasogo. The Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) deployed a group comprising members of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) and the Air Force of Zimbabwe to train Equatorial Guinea officers on operational and logistic matters at the request of that country.

The group is the second after another comprising members of the ZNA, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and members of other security services served in Equatorial Guinea when the West African nation hosted AFCON 2015.
