Transformer oil thief gets 10 years in prison after stealing oil worth $60

Ricky Jones of Entumbane in Bulawayo was sentenced to 10 years in prison for stealing oil from a transformer.  Jones was caught red handed draining oil from a ZESA transformer at Mpilo Central Hospital.  He was convicted on his own plea, and sentenced by Magistrate  Tinashe Tashaya.   The magistrate explained that vandalising electricity infrastructure through acts such as draining oil attracts a mandatory 10-year prison sentence.
