The Twitter account of the Joice Mujuru-led Zimbabwe People First Party (ZimPF) was hijacked earlier on today. The impostor started using the account (@ZimPeopleFirst) to attack renowned law expert Professor Alex Magaisa. He accused Magaisa of being a coward and being responsible for the constitutional crisis. Magaisa, however, did not rise to the bait. He had the discernment to note that posts were out of character. Before reacting to the attacks on his person, Magaisa reached out to ZimPF’s spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire, who confirmed that the account had indeed gone rogue. They suspect that the account is being controlled by an employee who was fired.
So please DISREGARD any post coming from @ZimPeopleFirst until they confirm that they have regained control of the account.
