The MDC-T, led by Morgan Tsvangirai has affirmed that they are unwilling to form a coalition with “briefcase parties.” The MDC-T feels that these parties would add no value to the grand coalition in the 2018 Elections. At least 13 parties are considering the idea of
MDC-T spokesperson Obert Gutu, speaking on twitter said:
You can hold onto your briefcase political party. Who cares? You will certainly not be missed in a coalition.
I’m simply targeting briefcase political parties. There are plenty of them out there. They know themselves. You don’t form a briefcase political party today and thereafter, vociferously clamour for a position in the coalition matrix, just forget it.
