Disband Presidential Scholarship because it has been hijacked: ZINASU
The Zimbabwe National Students’ Union (Zinasu) have called for the disbanding of the Presidential Scholarship. Zinasu claims that the Scholarship is no longer serving its intended beneficiaries. Instead, it has been hijacked by corrupt officials and only those with money or connections are benefitting from the scholarship.
Zinasu president, Alister Pfunye speaking to NewsDay over the weekend said:
The scheme is now partisan and it is now empowering those who are already empowered. It is benefitting children, whose parents have high positions within Zanu PF and those who are linked to ministers, while deserving students from poor families are marginalised.
