A leaked conversation between Sniper and a 2Kings official by the name Vee Jay revealed that Sniper was offered $50 to perform at Jah Cure’s maiden tour.
In the telephone conversation, Vee Jay offers Sniper $50 for him and his DJ instead of his full band. Sniper refuses and says he will only get on stage if they pay him $800 or anything close to that amount. An attempt by Zimbojam to get a comment from the promoters of the show, 2Kings was unsuccessful.
Sniper’s manager, Chido Musasiwa confirmed the incident and expressed disappointment but however hoped the leak would not isolate Sniper from other promoters.

Kasi uri mubwidi here
WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!!
Can someone out there tell me how a local Promoter can offer one of the legends of Zimbabwean Urban music $50.00 to perform at a show? (let’s leave the Jah Cure Aspect out of it for now)
Firstly, even an artist who has just started music this year or has just one album… in fact, ANY ARTIST WHO HAS PROVEN HIMSELF TO BE AN ARTIST IS NOT WORTH $50.00 even for just 1 song!!!
Back to the JC part. The fact that the show had an international act meant that there would invariably be a larger audience, higher ticket prices, increased beverage prices etc. Even the bouncers charge more for such a show. Does it not make sense dear “kings” that your budget should have allocated slightly higher fees for our local artists who would make the event more festive and entertaining for the fans who paid hard earned money in our cash-strapped economy.
Sniper is a long serving musician and survives on his art. He is a family man and an employer. He also provides income to downstream service providers such as audio studios, video producers, choreographers etc My point is he is contributing to the industry and the economy of this nation.
When SNIPER STORM goes for a show he has a band and a crew that support him, (am sure Jah Cure had the same) before the show he has to arrange for rehearsals, wardrobe, transport to the event. At the show he has to have refreshments, afterward, he has to transport his whole crew. In all this, there is risk of incidentals such as illness or accidents (am not sure if they have insurance cover for such)
HOW WAS $50.00 GOING TO COVER ALL THIS????
-Is it that they do not value local artists?
-Is it that they did not want Sniper in particular?
-Or they have no respect for him from previous engagements?
-Or they have no respect for us his fans and the industry at large?
-Was it a case of a single individual (at 2 kings) who made a bad call and has brought the company into disrepute?
I shall not go into whether he has x number of hits on radio (he is 16-year veteran in the industry -that is longer than most promoters have been around)
IS JAH CURE AWARE THAT SUCH AN INCIDENT OCCURRED AT THE BACKGROUND OF HIS VISIT TO ZIMBABWE WHERE A LOCAL LEGEND WAS INSULTED IN SUCH A MANNER.
2 Kings Entertainment PLEAASE respect us enough to give us an explanation as to what happened. I have just been on your page and there is no explanation no apology.
You might be riding high dear “kings” but many others have reigned before you (ever wondered what happened to them). IT IS US THE ARTISTS AND OUR FANS WHO MAKE YOU WHAT YOU ARE.
TO ALL ARTISTS, PRODUCERS, DJs, TRUE PROMOTERS, AND ALL MEMBERS OF THE ZIMDANCEHALL, URBAN GROOVES, ZIM HIP-HOP FRATERNITIES AS WELL AS THE JOURNALISTIC FRATERNITY TO PUSH FOR A RESPONSE FROM 2 KINGS BUT ALSO TO USE THIS EVENT AS TURNING POINT
IF THEY CAN DO THIS TO THE GENERAL THEY CAN DO THIS TO ANY OF US…. LETS UNITE!!!!
