Linda Masarira refutes Zimeye report claiming she said Ndebeles are cowards

Political activist, Linda Masarira has denied a report on website Zimeye which states that she said Ndebeles are cowards that will never stand up against the Zanu PF government.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Masarira says the article is a hoax and a misconstruction of facts, sensationalized to paint a bad image of her as a person and the values she believes in. She goes on to state that she is on record saying most Ndebele speaking people where reluctant to participate in efforts to confront the system in fighting for their rights basing on her experience with her former workmates at NRZ whom she says were not eager to confront the situation.

However in this instance Masarira argues that she responded to the question referring to people from Matabeleland and not necessarily Ndebele speaking people. She goes on to state that whether Ndebele, Shona, Kalanga or otherwise, Zimbabweans must be able to confront bad governance and stop laying the victims card, it is however regrettable if anyone might have been offended by her perceived utterances.
