Government releases December pay dates for civil servants

Government has released December pay dates for civil servants with those in the health sector and uniformed forces being paid in first while the rest will receive their salaries after Christmas. Below are the dates for civil servant:

• Health and Uniformed forces i.e Zimbabwe National Army, Airforce of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Republic Police – December 21
• Teachers- December 28
• Rest of civil servants – January 3
• Pensioners – January 6

The Chronicle reports that Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Prisca Mupfumira could not be reached for comment yesterday as her mobile phone rang unanswered. Civil servants’ representatives yesterday said Government had informed them of the dates through the Apex Council and expressed regret that Government had not engaged them before coming up with the new pay dates.
