'Rights of people living with disabilities violated in Hospitals'
People living with disabilities have urged the government to help people living with disabilities train and take up more jobs in the medical sector. This is due to the fact that they feel that their rights are sometimes violated in Hopstitals. Nurses and doctors do not relate to them well.
Watson Khuphe, National Chairperson of the Federation of Organisations of Disabled People in Zimbabwe (FODPZ) said:
Educating the disabled will make sure that we receive fair treatment at the hospitals because fellow physically challenged disabled doctors will understand where we come from.
FeedbackAs a disabled person I call on the government to assist us educate our fellows who can become doctors and serve their counterparts.
Treatment that we receive in hospitals is different from normal people and health care workers have a bad attitude towards the disabled.
