The Minister of Mines and Mining Development, Walter Chidhakwa has admitted that the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC) was illegal formed. There was no legal instrument to support this. Chidhakwa admitted this when he appeared before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines.
Chidhakwa said:
The ministry will ensure that all government companies are formed correctly from a legal perspective.
