Legislators set to acquire affordable stands

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda confirmed that legislators are set to acquire affordable residential stands in a programme being spearheaded by Parliament which has engaged all rural and urban councils across the country.

A member of the National Assembly who spoke to The Herald on condition of anonymity said they were told that each of them could choose a residential stand in a town of his or her choice.  Mudenda said the move was aimed at empowering MPs and that they were not giving legislators the stands for free.
