MDC-T issues press statement on forming coalitions with other opposition leaders

MDC-T has released a press statement on forming coalitions with other opposition parties and said that coalitions can only be driven by the people.

In the press statement released on the party’s Facebook page, MDC-T says that the party’s leader, Morgan Tsvangirai is personally handling the issue of coalition discussions and deliberations with similar minded opposition political parties. They go on to mention that at the moment they are concerned with the creation of a condusive electoral environment that will bring about a free and fair election.

The party also took time to issue a subliminal response to Tendai Biti‘s People’s Democratic Party which accused Tsvangirai of holding secret coalition meetings with Zanu PF Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa. MDC-T said that it does not find any value and/or wisdom in exchanging crude and rude personal attacks with other opposition political parties as they continue to force the Zanu PF dictatorship to give in to their constitutional demand for electoral reforms. The party said that it will make a public announcement regarding the issue of an electoral coalition when the time is right.
