Cabinet condemns “witch hunters” as criminal, fraudulent and extortionist

In a press statement in the Herald, Christopher Mushowe, the Minister of  Information Media and Broadcasting Services  and Government spokesperson, announced that Cabinet had discussed “witch hunters” commonly known as “Tsikamutanda” in a cabinet meeting.  The Cabinet subsequently declared the witch hunters as fraudulent extortionists who should be condemned and reported to law enforcement agencies with a view of ending “the evil practice”.

Part of the statement reads:

Cabinet wishes to reiterate that it does not condone witch hunting and has not licensed anyone to carry out this hideous activity.

…report the evil practice to the police and law enforcement authorities with a a view to bringing to book the perpetrators and seeking compensation.
