Tobias Muchimba (27) of Victoria Falls, was sentenced to 5 years in jail for attempted murder. He pleaded guilty to the charge after appearing before Hwange magistrate Dambudzo Malunga. Muchimba asked for leniency for striking Remigious Nkomazana (22) with a machete after a misunderstanding over a $2 debt.
Prosecutor Tomupei Mbiza said:
On August 28 at 5PM along the road near Mununa Primary School, the accused struck the complainant several times on the head and on both hands using a machete after an argument over $2.
