Ndumiso Gumede reinstated; labour court throws out dismissal

Ndumiso Gumede  was reinstated as Highlanders Football Club chief executive officer, after successfully challenging his dismissal case at the labour court.    Gumede took Highlanders to court for unfair dismissal after the club  had fired him acting under orders of ZIFA president Phillip Chiyangwa.  Highlanders did not contest Gumede’s application and signed a certificate of settlement which compels them to take back Gumede.

Highlanders signed a resolution which states:

The responded agrees that the claimant was unprocedurally dismissed therefore respondent agrees to reinstate without loss of salary and benefits.
