Foreign airlines operating in Zimbabwe to accept bond notes

Board of airline representatives’ chairperson and newly elected Zimbabwe Council for Tourism vice president Ms Winnie Muchanyuka said that foreign airlines will accept bond notes after the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe assured them that it will facilitate repatriation of receipts in US dollars.

The Government is introducing bond notes, as an export incentive as well as a measure to address cash shortages that have been going on for the greater part of this year. The bond notes will be at par with the US dollar, but will only be acceptable as legal tender in Zimbabwe.
