United States Ambassador to Zimbabwe Harry K Thomas Junior said the just ended presidential elections will not result in any policy changes for Zimbabwe. He also urged the government to hold free and fair elections in 2018.
Speaking soon after Donald Trump was announced as the winner, Thomas said,
America would like to see democracy prevail in Zimbabwe and the will of the people must always be respected. Zimbabwe will remain on the top of human rights support and we urge free and fair elections in 2018.
He also pointed out that his government will continue with its HIV and AIDS and food donation projects.
