Masiyiwa responds to Zvorwadza’s appeal. Says he has no intention to challenge Govt plans

In a statement to NewZimbabwe.com on Friday evening, Econet Group spokesman, Sure Kamhunga, stressed that Strive Masiyiwa “is not directly involved in the running of Econet in Zimbabwe”.

Kamhunga said,

While Masiyiwa is keen, like any other Zimbabwean, to see an economically stable and successful country, he has no intention or desire to ‘block’ government plans aimed at resolving challenges facing Zimbabwe. Through the leadership of Mr. Douglas Mboweni, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is a significant investor in the country, whose economy has the potential to grow for the benefit of its people. Masiyiwa who is not directly involved in the running of Econet in Zimbabwe, also has hopes of a better Zimbabwe.
