Chevrons lose first test despite fightback

Sri Lanka took a 1-0 lead, in the 2 test match series, after winning the first test match by 225 runs at Harare Sports Club.   The Sri Lankans managed to overcome spirited resistance from the Zimbabwe Chevrons who were dismissed with only 10 overs needed to bat to secure a draw.  Just like in the first innings, the top order did not acquit themselves well and it was left to the bottom order to mount a rearguard action.  Captain Greame Cremer posted 43 runs while Sean Williams added 40 runs.
