Bulawayo residents angry as Council fails to stick to water rationing schedule

Residents in the country’s second largest city are up in arms with city authorities who have failed to stick to their water shedding schedule, inconveniencing many in the process. The residents urged the city council to stick to its proposed 48-hour long water shedding schedule to avoid further inconveniences.

One Magwegwe North resident who spoke to Radio Dialogue said,

According to the BCC water shedding programme, we were supposed to be shed on Wednesday but surprisingly they started shedding us yesterday (Sunday). As such, we had not yet filled our buckets in preparation for water shedding.

Bulawayo City Council failed to follow its proposed schedule with suburbs such as Magwegwe, Lobengula, Cowdray Park among others experiencing water supply cuts on Sunday evening instead of the advertised Wednesdays.
