Here's a way for people to "pay for all the laughs they've gained because of this meme"

Turns out the meme that has been doing the rounds on social media is a picture of Jake Amo, a five year old from Asempanaye in Ghana. The crowd fund campaign was started by photographer Solomon Adufah who is looking for $20 000 to support Jake’s education and many children like him.

The picture was taken by Carlos Cortes, an award winning photographer who documented Adufah’s journey to Ghana. Adufah shared the picture on Instagram in January as part of the artist’s ‘homeland series’ where he travels to various communities in Ghana, and other African countries to help underprivileged children in local communities, providing them with resources and teaching creative studies workshops.
