Steward Bank sues Chief Charumbira over $11 762 furniture debt

Chief Fortune Charumbira, is being sued by Steward Bank on behalf of TN Harlequin Luxaire over an $11 762 furniture debt.

In its founding affidavit, Steward Bank claims Charumbira incurred the debt sometime in 2012, when he bought furniture on credit from TN Harlequin Luxaire. The furniture manufacturing firm then ceded the debt to the bank, thereby, transferring its rights to claim money to the financial institution. The bank claims Charumbira was still in possession of the furniture and had only made two occasional monthly instalments amounting to $600.

Charumbira was issued with the court summons last Tuesday under case number HC10536/16 and is yet to enter an appearance to defend notice.
