Man granted $50 bail after pretending to be a Zanu PF official

Khumbulani Mpofu who allegedly masqueraded as a Zanu PF official and solicited for donations appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Shithembiso Ncube on Saturday and was granted $50 bail and remanded to November 11. He was not asked to plead to the alleged fraud charge.

The court heard that on October 18 this year, Mpofu, who works in the Ministry of Youth in the city, went to Buffalo Cycles company with forged a letter purporting to be from Zanu PF and asked for donations in cash or fuel.
